About the Event

Year 9 cadets are invited to apply to our new recruits weekend 19-21 January 2024. This introductory weekend will give cadets the opportunity to experience a range of military, leadership and teamwork based activities.

Please note that places are limited and we have  more recruits than spaces. Do book early do avoid disappointment. A number of places are reserved for year 11 and 13 cadets but these should only be booked by cadets who have been spoken to by Mr. Marshall.

As with all our trips, the cost of a place covers everything: transport, food/drink, activities. Owing to the limited defence estate available at the moment, we are having to contract in external caterers and travel further distances for our camps. This has resulted in unavoidable, additional costs, which are reflected in the price.

Cadets will not have any opportunity to spend any additional money beyond a possible vending machine at the camp, and/or when travelling across on the ferry from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight.

Cadets who qualify for pupil premium should contact us at info@suttongrammarccf.com

Terms of Booking

We regard payment of the camp fee as a firm commitment to attend camp and will not routinely offer refunds, except in cases of obvious emergency, such as illness.  We have many cadets applying for a limited number of places, and in the past have had withdrawals because cadets and/or parents have changed their minds, have subsequently booked other engagements, or decided that exam revision has become too urgent.  None of these reasons merit refunds.  We would urge parents and cadets to think carefully before applying for   a place on camp

Cadets and parents are also acknowledging by applying that they are physically fit to undertake the full demands of camp and that they will inform us if there are health issues which arise subsequent to an application.  Failure to do this may result in future camp applications being rejected, as we have to be able to run camps on the basis of full information about cadets' health being provided.
