WING COMMANDER DAVID HOBBS
Wg Cdr David Hobbs attended Sutton Grammar School between 1980 and 1987 – joining the CCF in 1983. He has been active in the Contingent from that date and became Contingent Commander in 1996.
He is responsible for safe running and development of the Contingent and all of its activities.
Army Section
Major Ricky Kempton
Officer Commanding Army Section
Maj. Kempton joined the officer team in 2005 having left the school that year as the cadet corporal major (CCM). Whilst studying at university in London, Cpt Kempton returned every week to support the cadets on parades. After being on several courses at the cadet training centre in Frimley, Cpt. Kempton instructs and tests cadets on their weapon handling course so that they can use the rifle safely and heads up our 200 strong army section.
RAF Section
Sqn Ldr. Giles Marshall
Officer Commanding RAF Section
Sqn. Ldr. Marshall joined the CCF soon after arriving at Sutton Grammar Schoolas a new member of staff, despite having made clear in his interview that he would do no such thing. That was in 1988. He teaches history and politics at school, and is Head of Sixth Form.
