About the Event
All cadets in year 9-13 are invited to attend our main camp of the year.
Cadets will take part in a varied training programme over the course of a week. Activities will include - amongst other things - a 24 hour field exercise, adventure training, team building skills and live firing ranges.
Cadets must have passed their weapon handling test in the 6 months prior to attending camp. For year 9, we will endeavour to ensure all successful applicants have conducted their training prior to camp. For year 10-13, failure to attend/pass a pre-camp weapon handling test will result in their removal from camp.
The cost of the trip includes entry into Alton Towers on the final day of the trip (30 June). Should you own a Merlin pass, we will ask you to contact us nearer the time to let us know and we will refund the cost of the ticket.
SGS Year 10 cadets should be aware that they can attend this trip in place of work experience.
The camp tends to be oversubscribed each year so please book as early as possible if you intend to come.
Those entitled to pupil premium should book using the coupon code previously provided or contact us for further details. Should others have financial difficulties in making payment for this camp now, but would like to attend, please contact us to discuss.
IMPORTANT - Terms of Booking
Parents should be aware that we must allocate places evenly across year groups. In the event that we receive bookings from any one year group that far exceeds our allocation, we reserve the right to remove and refund some of those bookings in favour of under represented year groups.
We regard payment of the camp fee as a firm commitment to attend camp and will not routinely offer refunds, except in cases of obvious emergency, such as illness. We have many cadets applying for a limited number of places, and in the past have had withdrawals because cadets and/or parents have changed their minds, have subsequently booked other engagements, or decided that exam revision has become too urgent. None of these reasons merit refunds. We would urge parents and cadets to think carefully before applying for a place on camp
Cadets and parents are also acknowledging by applying that they are physically fit to undertake the full demands of camp and that they will inform us if there are health issues which arise subsequent to an application. Failure to do this may result in future camp applications being rejected, as we have to be able to run camps on the basis of full information about cadets' health being provided.
