Recruit Camp Notice

We very much regret that we have had to cancel the Recruit Camp for Year 9 cadets, planned for March 18th and 19th. We are aware that parents and cadets have had to go through two postponements and now a final cancellation for this camp, and can only reiterate our apologies. Unfortunately, in booking military training areas for our camps, we are clearly not free agents, and the reality at the moment is that the military training estate across the UK is currently under considerable pressure of use. The cadet forces come at the bottom of priority lists for use of these areas and we have - uniquely in our experience - been superseded by higher priority units on each of our three successive bookings.

Refunds will be sent to all of the successful applicants for this camp and parents need take no further action to receive these.

Obviously a number of Year 9 cadets will be participating on the February half term camp, and there is every sign that this camp will now stay in place.

I would also encourage Year 9 cadets to apply for the contingent's summer camp, being held during Activities Week. There are still a good number of places available for this camp, although as ever I would remind cadets that earlier applications avoid the disappointment of being placed on waiting lists.
