Good Morning All.
Thank you to those who attended the essential pre-camp briefing yesterday. There were however a large number of cadets who did not attend this briefing. These meetings convey very important information and expectations for the cadets which is why they are advertised early and we keep on reminding cadets that they are expected to attend.
Below are some key points which were raised and some important links:
Changes to Medical Form: if there have been any changes to a cadets physical health before a trip then please inform us beforehand. Throughout the camp, cadets will complete various physical challenges and will be expected to be involved in everything we do. If a cadet cannot do this then we shall ask parents and/or guardians to collect them from the camp.
Arrival Time: cadets are to meet at 0700 at SGS on Sat 11th July - much earlier than advertised due to the coach companies. This is in civilian kit and you should bring a packed lunch however we may stop at a service station depending on the coach drivers schedule.
Lincoln Water Park Waiver: on Friday 17th July we are going to Lincoln Water Park and each parent/guardian MUST complete the waiver form which is linked below. As, mentioned, the date needed is Friday 17th July and our reference number is 85359.
FAQ link for what to wear (especially on your feet) is also here: https://www.lincolnwaterpark.co.uk/faqs
Air Rifle Instructional Videos: as well as firing the L98A2 cadet GP rifle, cadets shall be using the BSA scorpion air rifle. This is a new weapons system for most cadets so I have put some videos for you to look over and become familar with some of the rifle parts. You will see that many of the drills have the same words of command as the cadet GP. The formal training for this is scheduled into the plan for when we are away:
Instructions, Named Parts, Characteristics
Example WHT for the Air Rifle
There will no doubt be some further updates from the Corporal Major Liam Sahai or the officer team so please keep your eyes on the blog.
We look forward to seeing many of you on summer camp,
Maj. R. Kempton
