October Camp this year will be 18-21 October 2025. Location: Crowborough Training Camp. Booking/Registration will be open once the new term commences. This camp is a fieldcraft camp with a 24 hr ex open to Years 10-13. To gauge expected interest, please answer the poll below.

Many people came for some revision and then passed their WHT on Tuesday, thanks to those cadets. We do understand that some cadets have not handled the rifle since the start of the year so we will be doing some revision during parade. There are four places remaining for October Camp which can booked by any cadets in year 10-13 that wish to come. Please book by the end of this week at which point we will close the event. All those that have already booked a place will receive a briefing note in the next couple of weeks, with a full camp briefing to take place after parade the week before camp.

Over the next two parades cadets who are on October camp and whose weapons handling test has expired will need to retake after parade. The remaining places on October camp have been made available to all cadets in year 10-13. If you missed out on your year group allocation earlier this month, there are now some limited places available. These can be booked on the camp bookings page. Please see the "All Cadets" ticket.

Cadets who will be in years 10-13 from September should be aware that booking for places on October Half Term camp will open next Monday 5 August. You can find all the details here.

Cadets attending this October Half Term camp, next week, are reminded that it is a 0700 arrival at SGS on the day of departure, in full MTP combats. The Details Letter for this camp is here. As per the briefing, cadets should ensure that they have a suitable sleeping bag (3 seasons or above) and a roll mat, given the potential for cold November temperatures.

We hope that cadets are looking forward to this weekend's training camp. Just a couple of final requests regarding your child's attendance. We ask that every cadet takes a COVID Lateral Flow Test (LFT) in advance of Saturday's departure. We know that students are used to taking these and hope this won't be much of an inconvenience.
