All cadets attending Year 10 Leadership this weekend are to read the attached information leaflets regarding heat illness detection and prevention. It is mandatory for all attending to read the materials and be aware of the symptoms and appropriate responses for heat illnesses. It is extra important for everyone to pack a large/extra water bottle for this camp and bring suncream/sunblock. If you have been issued a bush hat, you must also bring this with you.

All Year 10 cadets attending Ex Iron Compass - Year 10 Leadership Camp 2025 must attend a camp briefing next week on Tuesday (17/06/2025) after parade. The briefing will commence promptly at 1730 in the drama room. The register for those attending can be found here. Bookings for year 10 leadership open tomorrow from 7pm on the camp bookings page. The weekend is scheduled for 27-29 June. There are limited places so please only book if you are fully committed to attending. A waiting list will be open should places be filled.

As briefed to cadets and indicated on the instruction sheet (here), we are asking parents to bring their sons and daughters to the training area at Mereworth Woods from 6.30pm please (postcode and what3words given on sheet). There will be a briefing for Year 10 cadets going on the weekend training at Mereworth Woods from 14th to 16th. July on Tuesday July 11th at SGS. The start time is the normal parade start time of 4.10pm and you should assemble where the parade assembles. Our booked coach transport has unfortunately now been withdrawn due to supply issues. We will be asking parents to transport their sons and daughters to and from the weekend, on the Friday evening and Sunday morning. Mereworth Woods Training Area is approximately 45 minutes' journey from Sutton Grammar School. I will issue details on timings and location nearer the event, but wanted to give an early warning about the need for parental transport.

If you are in year 12 and have been confirmed by Mr Marshall as attending the forthcoming Year 10 Leadership weekend, please go to the camp booking page and register your place on the trip. This must be completed by a parent or guardian.

Year 10 leadership weekend will take place on 14-16 July. Cadets are invited to make their booking now. Places are limited so you may wish to book asap to avoid missing out. Some year 12 cadets will be invited to attend in due course to help run the weekend.

We are leaving as soon as possible after school on Friday afternoon (June 10th) and should return by 11am on Sunday morning (June 12th). Cadets may bring phones but should note that they are fully responsible for their security, and that there are of course no charging facilities available.
