Welcome back to a new term and a new year at Sutton Grammar School CCF! We hope all our cadets, staff, and families have had a fantastic, restful summer break and are ready to return to parade with renewed energy.

A massive welcome to our newest recruits who are joining the contingent. Offer emails have now been sent out, and all new recruits should have been added to the blog mailing list. If you applied, please check your inboxes (and spam folders) to see if you have been offered a place. Once again, this year was incredibly competitive, with plenty of outstanding candidates making the selection process very difficult. We are thrilled to announce that this has been one of our biggest intakes ever, and we cannot wait to get started with your training.

To ensure we hit the ground running, please review the schedule and key updates below.

Schedule for the Next Few Weeks

Tuesday 8th September (Tomorrow): Year 12 and Year 13 Planning Meeting + Officer Meeting.
Tuesday 15th September: Year 9 Welcome Assembly. First full parade back for Years 10-13.
Tuesday 22nd September: First full parade for Year 9s. Parades continue as normal for the rest of the contingent.

Year 9 Welcome Assembly & Uniform

All new Year 9 recruits must attend their Welcome Assembly on Tuesday 15th September. You must bring a notebook and pen (preferably a new notebook dedicated to CCF.

During this assembly, we will discuss what to expect over the coming term/year, including the timeline for uniform issue, which will take place in the following weeks.

Don't forget to go ahead and buy a suitable pair of boots as instructed in your offer email. The welcome assembly can be attended in school uniform, and following parades you should wear suitable sports kit with trainers (to be confirmed in assembly).

ParentPay Subscriptions

The annual CCF subscription payment of £120 will be added to ParentPay in the next few weeks. We ask that parents look to pay this as soon as possible once it goes live.

Year 9s: Please note that your place in the CCF is not fully confirmed until a first payment is received.
Years 10–13: A deadline for at least a first payment is the end of September.

Leaving the CCF

If you have decided to part ways with your CCF journey this year, you must officially notify us by filling out the Leavers Form, which can be found on our website or accessed directly here. Once the form is submitted, you must promptly return your uniform. The return process will be organised and overseen by our School Staff Instructor, Sgt Lau.

October Fieldcraft Camp: October Half Term
Recruits Camp: Final Weekend of November
Lower 6th Leadership Camp (Aviemore): Initial call-out for August next year
