Welcome Back

We’d like to extend a warm welcome back to all Sutton Grammar School CCF cadets as we begin an exciting new year and first term of training. We hope you are rested, recharged, and ready to dive into what promises to be a packed and rewarding term ahead.

Parade Timings

From this term onwards, cadets will form up from 4:00pm and parade will start promptly at 4:10pm. Please ensure you arrive in good time so that we can make the most of our training sessions together.

Key Dates for September

• Tuesday 9th September

  • First parade for Year 9, 12, and 13 cadets only.

  • No need to come in kit.

  • Bring a notepad and pen (Year 9s: A6 size, kept separate from your school planner).

• Thursday 18th September (moved from Tuesday due to SET tests at SGS)

  • Parade for all cadets.

  • Attend in full kit with notepads and pens.

• Tuesday 23rd September onwards

  • Weekly parades every Tuesday.

All parades will take place at Sutton Grammar School.

Annual Subscription Fee

The annual CCF subscription fee is £120, which will be available to pay on ParentPay at the start of term.

• Payable in up to four instalments (September–December)

• Minimum £30 per instalment

• Full balance due by December

October Camp

We are pleased to announce that October Camp Registration will open in the first few weeks of September.

18 Oct 2025 – 21 Oct 2025

Crowborough Training Camp

This camp offers cadets (Years 10-13) an immersive fieldcraft training experience, involving:

• Core fieldcraft skills including the use of blank-fire ammunition

• Camp craft

• A 24-hour exercise in the field

It promises to be one of the highlights of the term and an excellent chance to put training into practice while building resilience, teamwork, and leadership.

If you are not planning on continuing with the CCF this year, please complete the leavers form and ensure you return your kit to SSI Alvin Lau.

Looking Ahead

This year’s programme has been refreshed with a revised and improved teaching syllabus. The details of which will be explained during the first parades. In particular for the RAF Section, we will be introducing dedicated RAF teaching weeks once in the termly rotation and a future drone handling rotation...
